I SALUTE YOU
For those of you that serve our Flag,
For those of you that Fight
Protecting freedom everyday;
I salute you; left and right.
It may not be traditional.
It may not cut the grade.
Yet, I salute you, anyway.
Military, or Hippie Shade.
Each and everyone of us
That breathes this precious air,
Owes our deepest gratitude
To all of you, out there.
Thank You, Brothers, one and all.
Thank You, Sisters, too.
We realized the magnitude
Of everthing you do.
I do not say this lightly.
I do not ramble on.
My very Dad was one of You.
I'm a Fighter Pilot's Son.
I grew up in the USA.
I grew up standing tall.
All my life I lived on base;
Some mighty, and some small.
Yet, everyday at Four O'Clock,
What e're I was around;
I'd drop what e're I did or said,
And salute, as the Flag went down.
It was an honor close to me.
I cherish our great land.
I cherish each and all of you,
Who take that warrior stand.
I wish I could have been with you.
To lend you my brave hand.
To stand by you, and fight by you;
Protecting this great land.
So, all of you that serve with pride;
All you souls, so tried and true.
I stand here, humbly in repose.
And proudly; I Salute You.
